The Security Service of Ukraine has detained an agent who was passing information to the enemy on the location of Ukrainian troops in the south of Ukraine and in Kyiv.

The press service of the SSU reported about this.

The man was detained in Odesa during another attempt to pass information to the enemy. He collected data on the locations of control centers and air defense systems.

The agent was delivering the collected information through a ‘liaison’ – an agent of the FSB in the pro-kremlin news agency Bel.ru, located in Belgorod region, the Russian Federation.

The information provided by the detainee was to be used for targeted missile attacks on military facilities on the territory of Ukraine.

The detainee turned out to be a resident of Odesa, whom the FSB involved in secret cooperation after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The individual received an ‘offer’ to work for the invaders through banned social networks, where he repeatedly expressed support for the armed aggression against Ukraine.

During the searches, mobile phones were seized from the detainee. Communist symbols and propaganda materials in support of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation were also found.

The man was informed of the suspicion, the court has already chosen a preventive measure of detention. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, all the circumstances of the crime and possible additional qualifications are being considered.

As previously reported, the SSU officers detained the artillery spotter of the missile attack in the Kharkiv region.

The detainee is a resident of the Donetsk region, who was recruited by the so-called “Ministry of State Security of the Donetsk People’s Republic” at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
