Israeli company Elbit Systems Ltd. has been awarded a contract worth approximately $60 million to supply its multi-layered Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) to a NATO European country.
Elbit Systems announced this in a press release.
Elbit Systems has been awarded a contract to supply a multi-level anti-drone system. The contract will be performed over a period of three years.
Elbit Systems will supply its ReDrone modular Counter-UAS solution as part of the contract. This system was developed for military, paramilitary, and civilian use. In particular, it is designed to protect borders, airports, seaports, strategic facilities, public events, military bases, military or VIP convoys, and motorcades.
The system comprises a DAiR radar, an electronic intelligence system, a COAPS-L optical system with day and night optics, and electronic warfare capabilities.
According to the company, the system is capable of detecting, identifying, pinpointing, tracking, and neutralizing enemy UAVs day and night in both urban and rural environments, and in various weather conditions.
The system is available in both stationary and mobile configurations, which can be mounted on vehicles to increase operational flexibility.
No special skills are required to deploy the system. One person can install ReDrone in less than 20 minutes.
The details of this contract are not disclosed, but in 2023, the Netherlands Army signed a contract worth $55 million for a similar system.
As part of that contract, the company will integrate several stationary systems into the Dutch Army’s command and control system.
In addition to the systems, the Netherlands will also receive a package of logistical equipment and training for the operators of these systems.
“This contract, coming amid the rising threat of unmanned aerial systems, follows a series of contracts awarded to us in the CUAS field. We are proud that another NATO member country has chosen our solution, further demonstrating the robustness and effectiveness of our system, built on our advanced capabilities in EW, SIGINT, radar, and EO technologies,” Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR & EW reported.
