Elbit Systems was awarded a contract to supply rocket artillery to an international customer.
This is stated in the company’s press release.
The contract worth approximately $270 million will be performed over a period of 4 years.
Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems, noted that this contract reaffirms Elbit Systems’ position as a “leading provider of advanced artillery solutions,” enhancing clients’ operational capabilities with cutting-edge technologies.
The company does not disclose who became the customer of the PULS rocket launcher system, which is manufactured by Elbit Systems.
It is also unclear what the contract provides for, such as whether it includes the supply of rockets or only launchers.
In May 2023, Elbit Systems received an order from the Netherlands for the supply of the latest MLRS worth $305 million.
The five-year contract covers the supply of 20 universal launchers of the PULS (Precise and Universal Launching Systems) system, which will be integrated into the Scania Gryphus 8×8 wheeled chassis selected by the Dutch Army.
However, the first four MLRSs will initially be on the Tatra Force 815-7 6×6 chassis, which will be used as training and reserve vehicles. Later, they will also be transplanted to Scania chassis.
The agreement includes not only the supply of launchers but also ammunition for them with different ranges, as well as personnel training and maintenance services.
The PULS MLRS is a versatile mobile launcher that houses containers that can be used to launch various types of munitions, including precision guided missiles with different ranges.
The rotary launcher houses two containers that can hold different types and quantities of ammunition with different calibers, including two Predator Hawk missiles with a range of up to 300 km.
