The first echelons of Russian servicemen, who are part of the regional group of troops, are arriving in Belarus.

The Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported about this.

It is emphasized there that the decision to create this group of troops was adopted and implemented allegedly “in the interests of strengthening the protection and defense of the border of the Union State.”

The deployment of troops “is dictated by continuous activity in the areas bordering Belarus.”

On October 10, it was reported that Lukashenko and Putin had agreed to deploy a joint regional group of troops.

The basis of this group will be the army of Belarus.

The decree of Alexander Lukashenko from October 11 launched an inspection of the armed forces of Belarus.

Following that, the media reports appeared that Belarus announced the beginning of a counterterrorism operation due to the “threat from neighboring countries.” The statement on the operation was made by Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belaru. Local media also reported the start of the hidden mobilization in the country.

Afterwards, the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus denied Foreign Minister Volodymyr Makei’s statement about the beginning of a counterterrorism operation in the country.

At the same time, it was clarified that planned trainings are being held in the country in order to maintain a high level of readiness to fight terrorist threats and perform tasks as intended.

The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that Russian troops are transferring the Shahed-136 kamikaze drones to Belarus. As of October 10, 32 UAVs were brought to the country, and by October 14, they plan to deliver another 8.

Against the background of these events, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are strengthening units on the border with Belarus. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is building fortifications, and structural units are being reinforced with a fire component.
