Drones reportedly attacked the gas tanks of the Novatek terminal in the seaport of Ust-Luga, Leningrad region.

This information was reported by the media.

According to local residents, they heard the sounds of flying drones before the explosions. In addition, Russian sources reported the operation of air defense systems in the region.

At the time of the attack on the tank, three civilian vessels flying the flags of Belgium, Libya, and Oman were in the port.

It should be noted that Russian monitoring channels reported that unidentified aerial targets were moving toward St. Petersburg.

At the last moment, they changed their direction and attacked the port infrastructure.

The port of Ust-Luga is one of the largest sea transshipment points in the Russian Federation, facilitating the export of gas, coal, metallurgical products, and various other goods.

The port is located on the shores of the Gulf of Finland and is strategically important for Russia’s exports of raw materials to Europe and other countries.

As Militarnyi previously reported, on January 19, 2024, after a drone attack in the Bryansk region of Russia, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the town of Klintsy.

Footage of a massive fire accompanied by smoke is released online and is visible at a large distance from the oil depot.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the drone was allegedly downed in the Bryansk region early in the morning of January 19.

At the same time, the governor of the region stated that there was an alleged attempt to attack the facility in the city of Klintsy.
