On the night of February 17, Ukrainian drones attacked the Ilsky Oil Refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
Exilenova+ Telegram channel shared videos of the fire, recorded by local residents.
The regional operational headquarters in Russia also confirmed the drone strike.
According to officials, the attack caused a storage tank containing petroleum products to catch fire on the oil refinery’s grounds.
“The total area of the fire is about 700 square meters. Seventy-two personnel and 21 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the blaze… A firefighting train is also operating at the scene,” the statement reads.
The released footage shows tall flames and thick black smoke rising above the plant’s premises.
The Ilsky Oil Refinery (LLC “KNGK-INPZ”) is one of the largest private oil refineries in the region, playing an important role in supplying fuel to both the domestic market and export markets. The refinery is located in the stanitsa of Ilskaya, Seversky District, about 30 km from Krasnodar.
The facility specializes in primary oil refining and the production of petroleum products, including diesel fuel, gasoline, fuel oil, and bitumen.
The enterprise is also an important link in supplying fuel to the occupied territories of Ukraine and to military units in Russia’s Southern Military District.
The plant has been repeatedly targeted by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, including in an attack on the night of January 1, 2026.
