Drones Hit Tinguta Pumping Station in Volgograd Region, Fire Ongoing

Ukrainian drones launched overnight strikes on the Tinguta oil pumping station in Russia’s Volgograd region, sparking a fire at the site.

This is supported by data from NASA’s FIRMS monitoring system and statements from local authorities.

A missile attack alert was issued in the region at 1:47 a.m. local time. By morning, Russia’s defense ministry claimed that 57 fixed-wing drones had been shot down over the area.

The attack was confirmed by the governor of the Volgograd region, Andrey Bocharov, who reported a fire in a fuel storage tank in the Svetloyarsky district.

This is where the main pumping station, Tinguta, is located. It is used to transport diesel fuel through the Volgograd–Tikhoretsk main pipeline.

The station covers an area of 32 hectares, and its tank farm consists of four main storage, metering, and distribution tanks for diesel fuel, with a total capacity of 80,000 cubic meters.

The day before, Ukrainian drones also struck an electrical substation on the grounds of the Krymskaya oil pumping station in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.

This station is part of the oil pipeline infrastructure and belongs to Russia’s main pipeline system.
