On the night of Tuesday, June 18, drones hit an oil depot in the city of Azov in the Rostov region of Russia.

Tanks with oil products caught fire as a result of the attack.

Eyewitnesses among local residents posted a video of the UAV strike and the resulting large-scale fire.

Vasily Golubev, the region’s governor, confirmed that the oil depot was hit by drones.

The official claimed that there were no casualties as a result of the burning of oil tanks.

He also said that Russian firefighters are extinguishing the open fire on the spot.

According to locals, before the fire, they heard the sounds of drone engines and at least five explosions in the sky.

In the morning, the fire at the tank farm was still ongoing, and the Astra Telegram channel published the footage from the scene.

According to the Russian media, a 5,000-cubic meter oil tank caught fire as a result of a nighttime drone strike.

As of 8 a.m., 200 people and 49 pieces of equipment, including a fire train, continue to extinguish the 3,200-cubic-meter fire, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

In addition, some Russian media, citing local residents, reported a fire at a methane production plant.

Over the past day, drones attacked four Russian regions. The UAVs were spotted in Belgorod, Voronezh, and Lipetsk regions, as well as in Krasnodar Krai. A video was posted online by local residents of one of the region’s settlements, which shows a drone flying overhead.
