UAVs struck an aviation fuel storage facility for Russian strategic bombers in Engels for the second time.
This attack took place on the night of Tuesday, January 14. The Astra Telegram channel published the relevant videos.
The operation was executed by the operators of the 14th Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Before the explosions, an air raid siren sounded in the Russian city, and Russian air defense was reportedly operating.
At least two hits resulted in a new fire at the oil depot of Rosreserv’s Kristall plant in Engels, which was already attacked by drones last week and could not be extinguished for five days.
Engels is located near Saratov, which was also attacked tonight.
In the morning, Roman Busargin, governor of the Saratov region, confirmed the drone attack. The Russian official said that Saratov and Engels had been subjected to a massive drone attack. As a result, two industrial enterprises in these cities were damaged. Emergency services are working there.
The previous strike on this aviation fuel storage facility took place on January 8, and only on January 13 did the Russians manage to extinguish the fire on its territory.
The oil storage facility of the Kristall plant is located about 8 kilometers from the Engels-2 strategic bomber military air base.
There are 46 tanks on the territory of the oil storage facility for storing oil products, including aviation fuel used for Russian Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers, which the invaders use to fire cruise missiles at Ukraine.
Also, the day before, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a missile attack on a Russian chemical plant in the Bryansk region that produces explosives and ammunition.
In addition to the missile strike, local residents also observed UAVs flying overhead during the attack.
