Attack drones struck the port of Kavkaz in the Temryuk district of Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, where an oil depot is located.
This was reported by the Operational Headquarters of the Krasnodar Krai.
According to Russian authorities, a technical vessel was damaged by falling drone debris.
A localized fire broke out at the berthing complex but was quickly extinguished, officials said.
In terms of cargo turnover, Port Kavkaz ranks fifth in the Russian Federation and second in the Black Sea-Azov basin after Novorossiysk. The oil depot at Port Kavkaz plays an important role in supplying fuel to occupied territories, including Crimea and parts of the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions.
This is not the first time vessels have been hit in the port area. In July 2024, Ukrainian forces struck the Russian ferry Slavyanin, which Russian authorities used for military logistics. The ferry was based at Port Kavkaz. In the same year, Ukrainian Defense Forces also struck an oil depot in the port area.
The ferry had been used to transport railway cars, vehicles and containers for military purposes. Slavyanin was the third and last railway ferry operated by Russia in this region.
