On the night of November 27, drones attacked the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region.
Astra reported on this, and the Supernova+ Telegram channel published the video.
Local residents heard a series of explosions and observed flashes in the sky and over the facility’s territory.
The video footage captured the operation of Russian air defense directly over the city of Novokuybyshevsk after 2 a.m.
An air raid alert was declared in the Samara region after midnight. In connection with this, Samara Airport also temporarily restricted aircraft arrivals and departures.
Officials of the local authorities had not commented on the situation at the time of publication. The consequences of this attack also remain unknown.
The Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery is part of PJSC NK Rosneft’s structure. The facility’s capacity is 8.8 million tons of crude oil per year (approximately 176,000 barrels per day).
In 2024, according to industry sources, the refinery processed about 5.74 million tons of crude oil, producing 1.10 million tons of gasoline, 1.64 million tons of diesel fuel, and 1.27 million tons of fuel oil.
It is the only producer in Russia of synthetic ethanol and para-tert-butylphenol.
This is not the first attack on the Novokuybyshevsk refinery – it was targeted on November 16 and October 19. After that, the production of petroleum products at the facility was suspended.
