In Russia, major fires broke out at the port of Temryuk and at an oil refinery in the city of Syzran following a Ukrainian drone strike.
The report comes from Astra, while footage of the strikes was published by the Telegram channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+.
Information about the drone attack on the Temryuk seaport – located in Temryuk Bay on the Sea of Azov, on the Taman Peninsula in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai – appeared shortly after midnight on December 5.
Footage recorded by Russians captured a large-scale fire. Local authorities confirmed the attack and the damage to the elements of the port infrastructure.
“Due to the UAV attack… the elements of the port infrastructure in Temryuk were damaged. A fire broke out… 32 specialists and 8 pieces of equipment were deployed to extinguish the blaze. Special and emergency services are working at the site…,” the Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters stated.
According to Astra, a gas terminal is burning in the Russian port. The Supernova+ Telegram channel claims that it is the terminal of Mactren-Nafta LLC, which handles the transshipment of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG).
In addition, during the night of December 5, strike drones hit the Syzran oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region.
According to eyewitnesses among local residents, explosions and gunfire in Syzran were heard after 2 a.m. local time. They reported hearing approximately 5 to 7 explosions.
It later became known that the Syzran refinery, which belongs to Rosneft, was hit by drones once again.
Videos from the scene published on social media show that a fire broke out in the area of the facility.
The refinery has a capacity of 8.9 million tons of oil per year, producing gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and bitumen. It is located 700 km from the Ukrainian state border.
The facility supplies fuel to the Samara, Saratov, and Penza regions, as well as partially to central regions of Russia. The refinery also provides fuel to airfields and military units of Russia’s Central and Southern Military Districts. This marks at least the seventh successful strike on this refinery in 2025.
