On the night of March 14, drones attacked a Russian oil refinery in Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai. As a result, a large fuel tank was hit.
The Astra Telegram channel published videos and photos of the fire at the facility.
The strike on the refinery took place after 2:00 a.m. local time. The residents of the city heard about ten loud explosions that had occurred on the premises of the facility.
Apparently, shortly after that, the air raid siren went off in the city, and a fire broke out at the refinery.
Veniamin Kondratyev, the Governor of Krasnodar Krai, confirmed the overnight drone attack on the Tuapse oil refinery and reported a fire in “one of the gasoline tanks.”
According to the official, by 5 a.m., the fire had spread over an area of more than a thousand square meters. A total of 121 people and 39 pieces of equipment were engaged in fighting the blaze.
This was the second successful attack on the Tuapse oil refinery in recent weeks.
On the night of February 26, two strike drones hit the crude oil pipeline and part of the processing unit ELOU-AVT-12.
According to Astra’s sources, a small oil spill occurred.
The Tuapse Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia. It is located in the city of Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai. The company is part of Rosneft and specializes in primary oil refining.
The refinery has an oil processing capacity of about 12 million tons per year, and its main products are oil distillates, fuel oil, diesel fuel, and aviation kerosene, 90% of which is exported.
This Russian facility is of strategic importance due to its proximity to the Black Sea and the oil terminal.
