In Mulino, Russia, a Ukrainian drone managed to damage the Combat Training Center and injure Russian soldiers.
ASTRA reported that two soldiers had been wounded in the attack in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The drone hit the administrative building of the 333rd Combat Training Center of Russia. Earlier, a video of the attack on the Mulino military base was published on March 14.
According to publicly available data, the green and white building in the footage is the Ground Forces Combat Training Center, which was completed in 2018.
The center combines traditional training grounds with modern computer technology.
The 34×27 km training ground is equipped with tank ranges and various training areas. The center’s capacity is up to 3 brigades per year, with the ability to train 700 soldiers at a time and train 30,000 people annually.
On the day of the attack, Rosaviation reported that the Strigino airport had temporarily not been receiving or sending flights. The authorities have not yet commented on the attack on the military training ground.
“It is there that Russians train important specialists for their army,” shared Mykola Malomuzh, an army general and former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
Malomuzh noted that the training ground in Mulino was high-tech and designed to organize and conduct complex military operations. We are talking about an armed unit, missile base, aviation missile systems and infantry operations.
“These are complex means that are connected with electronic warfare control systems, air defense and fire control. And their violation will not allow the enemy to train highly qualified specialists. This process takes six months,” Malomuzh said.
According to him, Mulino is training highly qualified mid-level specialists who are to be involved in Shahed attacks and missile strikes from long- and medium-range launchers on Ukrainian territory.
“Therefore, the elimination of this training ground does not allow the Russians to train and accumulate combat resources. After all, the military personnel stationed at the training ground, together with the training unit, are heading to the front,” Malomuzh noted.
