During the night of December 11, strike drones attacked one of Russia’s largest chemical plants, located in Veliky Novgorod.
Exilenova+ Telegram channel, among others, published a video from the scene was published.
According to preliminary information, the target was the PJSC Acron plant, where a fire broke out on the premises after the strike.
City residents reported drones flying overhead and sounds of explosions during the night. Eyewitnesses posted corresponding videos on social media.
At around 4 in the morning, Aleksandr Dronov, governor of the Novgorod region, confirmed the attack, stating that air defense systems were in operation in the region.
Eyewitnesses report that there were more than 5 strikes on the territory of the aggressor state’s industrial facility.
The PJSC Acron plant, attacked by drones, is one of Russia’s largest chemical producers, manufacturing mineral fertilizers, ammonia, nitric acid, ammonium nitrate, and more. According to media reports, some of its products and raw materials are dual-use, including as key components in the production of explosives.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces regularly carry out drone and missile strikes on facilities within Russia that support the functioning of the aggressor’s war machine.
As previously reported, the Russian oil refinery in Syzran halted oil processing after sustaining damage from a drone strike on December 5.
