The Come Back Alive Foundation and Ukrainian independent TV ‘Toronto Television’ have completed a joint project to supply special drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The press service of the Foundation reported about this on social media.
In the final stage of the project, one more unit—the 12th Separate Army Aviation Brigade, ‘Maj Gen Viktor Pavlenko,’—received one unmanned aerial vehicle.
Thus, each of the Ukrainian army aviation brigades received an unmanned system.
The cost of all the donated special UAVs is UAH 16 million. Of this amount, UAH 8 million was raised by ‘Toronto Television’ audience.
The Come Back Alive Foundation decided to double the money raised from the general accounts of the foundation to buy twice as many of these Ukrainian-made drones.
Each system consists of two drones and helps the Ukrainian military perform combat missions and save lives.
The purpose of these UAVs is not disclosed. The project team only emphasizes that such unmanned aerial systems significantly increase the combat effectiveness and survivability of Ukrainian helicopters.
The 18th Separate Army Aviation Brigade, ‘IhorSikorsky’,’ received the first such system in October 2023.
In January 2024, the unmanned systems were transferred to the 11th Separate Army Aviation Brigade ‘Kherson’ and the 16th Separate Army Aviation Brigade ‘Brody’.
In addition, in December 2023, the Come Back Alive Foundation and ‘Toronto Television’ donated navigation systems to the Ukrainian Navy.
Helicopter crews received a total of 24 such navigation systems. These are tablets with specialized air navigation software.
