Croatian company DOK-ING, best known for its mechanized demining vehicles, has introduced a new super-heavy multipurpose ground drone called Komodo, according to Hrvatski Vojnik.

Komodo is a tracked unmanned vehicle designed for a range of military and civilian applications.

It can be used for fire support, logistics, and engineering clearance tasks.

While technical specifications first mentioned in 2021 have not been disclosed, photos feature that the vehicle is equipped with a five-wheel tracked chassis that appears to be purpose-built rather than adapted from previous DOK-ING platforms.

It may include components from commercial heavy equipment manufacturers.

A rotating electro-optical sensor is mounted on the front of the drone, along with what appears to be a rectangular housing — likely a telescopic mast for improved visibility.

In terms of size and weight, Komodo is likely among the heaviest ground drones of its class in Europe.

Images of the command station show the vehicle is equipped with the main optical module and additional surveillance cameras positioned on the sides and rear.

The command station is mounted on a Volvo truck chassis, although Komodo can also be operated using a compact remote control.

The project is currently a joint product of DOK-ING and Rheinmetall, which agreed to collaborate on its development in November 2024.

The company’s portfolio includes electric vehicles, unmanned ground platforms, and robotic systems.

Since its inception, DOK-ING has focused on maximizing the use of mechanized solutions in demining operations.

In September 2024, the company opened a representative office in Ukraine. The Ukrainian company A3TECH-UKRAINE currently assembles and localizes the MV-10 mechanized demining systems, with production capacity reaching up to 60 units annually.
