The invaders continue to storm Sievierodonetsk.

The enemy is shelling Ukrainian units with mortars and various artillery systems.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning summary.

As a result of the shelling, civilian infrastructure was damaged in Metolkino, Borivske, Ustynivka, Toshkivka and other towns.

The Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Haidai, said that the situation in Sievierodonetsk had worsened.

“The situation remains steadily difficult. Combat is dynamic. Our defenders managed to make a counteroffensive for a while, they liberated almost half of the city, but now the situation for us has worsened again. The positions in the industrial zone remain the same,” Haidai said.

According to Serhiy Haidai, the highway connecting Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk with the Donetsk Region is not controlled by the Russians, but it is shelled by them.

“Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk suffer from more shellings,” Haidai said.

Major General Kyrylo Budanov, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, has inspected reconnaissance positions in Sievierodonetsk.

“For today, this direction is the main hotspot of the Russian-Ukrainian war, where our defenders have been destroying the enemy in fierce battles,” the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine said in a statement.

In certain areas the enemy has a tenfold artillery advantage.

“Despite this, we are gradually pushing invaders back from the town,” the statement reads.

According to the Joint Forces Operation, over the past 24 hours, the invaders fired at 22 settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As a result of the shelling, 8 civilians were killed and four were injured. This information is being clarified due to the high intensity of hostilities.

As previously reported, the Defense Forces of Ukraine in Sievierodonetsk were reinforced by the troops of the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine. Soldiers from Australia, Georgia, France, Brazil, and other countries fight side by side with Ukrainian servicemen.
