A fuel train destroyed by Ukrainian drones remains in place, blocking the invaders’ only railway line in the Zaporizhia region.
The information comes from satellite images published by researcher Kyle Glen.
After Ukrainian forces blew up the Russian train carrying fuel tanks, Russian troops began repair work, removing some of the damaged railcars from the tracks.
Images from August 20 and 25 show at least two railway platforms had disappeared, one of which derailed nearby. Most of the train, however, remains in place and continues to block movement along the line.
Even after clearing, sections of the railway may need to be replaced due to deformation caused by high temperatures from burning fuel, further complicating Russian logistics during repairs.
On August 19, Ukrainian Defense Forces halted a Russian train with fuel tanks. Members of the Ronin unmanned systems platoon of the 65th Motorized Rifle Brigade then carried out a series of strikes.
Philanthropist and blogger Serhiy Sternenko published footage of the attack, which was carried out using drones purchased under the Rusoriz project.
