Ukrainian Defense Forces knocked out Russian invaders from a number of positions in the Serebrianskyi forest in the Luhansk region.

Lieutenant Colonel Sviatoslav Palamar, deputy commander of the 12th Azov Assault Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, reported on this.

The brigade’s soldiers systematically drove the Russian invaders out of their positions in one of the areas and then gained a foothold there. And today they are holding the territory from Russian counterattacks.

The DeepState team also made changes to the interactive map of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which shows the loss of Russian positions in the Serebrianskyi forest.

The press service of the Azov Assault Brigade showed a video of the combat work of its soldiers in this sector.

The footage captures the capture of the Russian invaders’ positions and the interaction of the soldiers during the assault and subsequent holding of trenches and dugouts under constant shelling and attempts by the invaders to regain what they had lost.

“When the assault is over, the most difficult stage begins – holding the positions captured from the enemy. Danger awaits the fighters around every corner of the destroyed trenches. At the same time, the enemy does not stop shelling and attempts to counterattack,” the Azov Assault Brigade emphasized.

Since the end of summer 2022, there has been a defense line in the Serebrianskyi forest held by soldiers from various Ukrainian units. Among them, the Azov Brigade has been fighting there in recent months.

Only charred and partially fallen tree trunks remained of the large forest there, due to constant artillery shelling and explosions of Russian bombs, which the Russian invaders are trying to counteract the Ukrainian defenders with.

As previously reported, the Biden Administration authorized the Azov Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine to use U.S. weapons, which are provided as part of military aid to Ukraine.

The ban imposed about ten years ago due to the influence of Russian propaganda was lifted.

One of the battalions of the Azov Assault Brigade also received new Ukrainian-made Sirko-S1 ground drones.
