Denmark will join the training team of the Ukrainian servicemen in Great Britain.
The Ministry of Defense of Denmark reported on this.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that Ukraine still needs support in its fight against a full-scale Russian invasion, thus Denmark is increasing its participation in the military training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that Denmark will participate in a British-led training project with 130 Danish soldiers, who will act as instructors in various areas of training.
Together with the training in Britain, Denmark will offer to train Ukrainian officers on its soil.
“Thus, a dialog has been initiated with Ukraine regarding the assistance in educating commanders and support of the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces,” said the Danish Ministry of Defense in a statement.
It is reported that this would be one of the initiatives to be presented during the donor conference on supporting Ukraine on August 11 in Copenhagen.
Previously, Finland, Sweden, and Canada have announced their participation in training programs for the Ukrainian soldiers in Great Britain.
As previously reported, this week, a conference of Northern European allies in support of Ukraine will take place in the capital of Denmark.
The new conference in Copenhagen should become a continuation and expansion of the Ramstein format on military assistance at the level of the defense ministers.
In Copenhagen, among other things, issues of long-term financing, training of the Ukrainian military, and other challenges will be discussed.
On June 17, during a visit to Kyiv, the Prime Minister of Great Britain offered Ukraine assistance in training military personnel. Subsequently, Britain invited other partner countries to contribute to the training of the Ukrainian servicemen.
