Denmark will provide Ukraine with military equipment and financial support worth DKK 1.7 billion ($250 million).

Troels Lund Poulsen, Minister of Defense of Denmark, announced this.

The vast majority of the Danish parliament supports the new 1.7 billion military aid package for Ukraine. It should include vehicles, special equipment, air defense systems, and artillery ammunition.

“This is a donation package in the amount of DKK 1.7 billion. It should help carry out the future Ukrainian offensive and win back the territories occupied by the Russians,” Troels Lund Poulsen said.

The new military aid package from Denmark will be the tenth since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Equipment, air defense system and ammunition

According to Defense Minister Poulsen, the new aid package should strengthen Ukrainian air defense. It will also include scarce ammunition.

He separately emphasized the transfer of unnamed samples of special equipment, which should help with the evacuation of damaged armored vehicles from the combat zone, as well as assist in overcoming obstacles on the front line. Presumably, this regards a certain number of Wisent 1 armored recovery vehicles, which are already in use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The new package also includes an unknown number of unnamed MRAP-class armored vehicles and mine clearance equipment.

Military support of Denmark

The Danish government has created a DKK 7 billion ($1.01 billion) fund to help Ukraine. The majority of its funds – more than $767 million – will be directed to military needs.

Denmark is also a member of the “tank coalition” – a group of countries that help strengthen the Ukrainian military with Western tanks. In particular, Denmark, together with Germany and the Netherlands, will transfer about a hundred Leopard 1 tanks and 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

Also in April, Denmark transferred 19 CAESAR 8×8 self-propelled howitzers manufactured by the French company NEXTER to Ukraine. The donation was supported with the training for the future Ukrainian crews.
