Denmark will allocate 22 million euros to strengthen the defense capabilities of Ukraine.

Militarnyi informs about this.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba said on Twitter that Denmark will allocate additional funds to strengthen the defense capability of our country.

The assistance is aimed at strengthening the security of Ukraine, as well as to increase the potential of Ukrainian defense.

Thank you, dear friend Yeppe Kofod, for your timely visit proving Denmark’s solidarity with Ukraine in the time of Russia’s unprovoked and unacceptable threats. The decision to allocate additional €22 mln for strengthening Ukraine’s security sector is an act of true friendship.” – wrote Dmitry Kuleba.

Assistance

Denmark has also detailed its new comprehensive assistance program for Ukraine. Support is a new phase of the Danish Peace and Stabilization Program for Ukraine for a period of 2022-2025 years.

Of the 22 million, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark provides 10.75 million euros, and the Ministry of Defence – 11.3 million.

“Ukraine is currently threatened by the massive and completely unacceptable Russian military build-up close to the Ukrainian border. I have just visited the contact line and seen with my own eyes how severely this conflict has affected the Ukrainian people. The Danish government will not stand idly by. Our new support package is quite comprehensive, and every bit of it is needed. With this support, we are sending a clear signal of our solidarity with Ukraine. The Ukrainian people must know that they are not alone in their fight for sovereignty and independence.” – stated Yeppe Kofod.

The previous stage of Danish support for Ukraine lasted from 2018 to 2021 with a budget of 16.1 million euros.

The program is designed to strengthen the security and cohesion of the eastern regions of Ukraine, as well as support the defense reform in Ukraine and increase the potential of Ukrainian defense.

In addition, the assistance aims to “improve dialogue between people on both sides of the line of contact to facilitate conflict resolution and reconciliation on the ground.”

We remind you that the US Presidential Administration at the end of December, implemented the allocation of additional security assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 200 million dollars.

The new aid program included the same defense weapons that the United States had provided to Ukraine before, including lethal weapons.
