Denmark will provide an additional €509 million in military aid to Ukraine in 2026.
With this increase, Denmark’s total support for Ukraine in 2026 will amount to €1.87 billion. Of that sum, €1.28 billion had already been allocated, and another €80 million will come from the sale of F-16 fighter jets.
Following this decision, Denmark’s total defense spending in 2026 will rise to 3.5% of GDP.
Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said that supporting Ukraine’s defense is also an investment in the security of Europe and Denmark, emphasizing that Ukraine’s security is directly linked to the security of the entire European region.
It is worth noting that the Kingdom has become the leader in military assistance to Ukraine relative to GDP.
The country has allocated 2.75% of its GDP to Ukraine’s defense needs – the highest share among all member states of the EU and NATO.
