Norway and Denmark announced the transfer of 9,000 artillery rounds to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is reported on the official website of the Norwegian government.

In addition, Norway has already transferred 7,000 artillery rounds from its own stocks.

“Ukraine has an urgent need for artillery ammunition. We have therefore decided to join forces with Denmark for a new donation, so that Ukraine receives the ammunition as quickly as possible,” Bjørn Arild Gram, Norwegian Defense Minister, shared.

He also noted that Norway will continue to stand together with other countries to support Ukraine as long as it is needed.

In total, Norway, together with Denmark, donated 37,000 artillery rounds to Ukraine, not including an additional 9,000.

“Ukraine still has an urgent need for ammunition in its fight against Russia. Denmark, together with other EU and NATO countries, is in the process of accommodating a number of different measures to transfer the necessary weapons,” Troels Lund Poulsen, Danish Acting Defense Minister, noted.

The artillery rounds can be used in several types of artillery, including the M109 that Norway previously donated, and the CAESAR self-propelled howitzers, which were transferred by Denmark.

This is not the first case of aid coming from these countries.

Militarnyi previously reported that on April 3, 2023, Denmark and Norway agreed on the joint supply of artillery rounds to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Danish Ministry of Defense stated to have concluded an agreement with Norway on the transfer of 8,000 rounds of 155-mm artillery.

As noted, the agreement between the two countries covers the joint production of ammunition. In Denmark, 155-mm Norwegian artillery rounds will be equipped with Danish propellants and detonators in ready-made artillery rounds.
