Denmark and the Czech Republic signed a defense cooperation agreement, emphasizing their commitment to ensure upcoming military aid packages for Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic provided details on this collaboration.

The agreement describes the overall framework for closer bilateral defense cooperation in several areas.

The core of the cooperation is to secure additional donations of weapons and military equipment of high quality and speedy delivery to the armed forces of Ukraine.

“We have already sent a significant amount of military donations to Ukraine in cooperation with the Czech Republic. Donations desperately needed by the Ukrainians. With this agreement, we emphasize our strong cooperation with the Czechs and create the framework for future donations via the Czech Republic,” stated Troels Lund Poulsen, the Danish Minister for Defense.

The cooperation agreement entails that future donations to Ukraine follow the already established modes of operation. Denmark transfers the funding directly to the Czech Ministry of Defense.

The Czech Ministry of Defense has direct contact with the involved companies for each donation. In addition, the Czech Ministry of Defense carry out quality assurance, delivery, negotiate final conditions, etc.

“Close bilateral cooperation between the Czech Republic and Denmark is a significant step towards ensuring a steady stream of military assistance to Ukraine that is not only in line with the current urgent needs but a building block in terms of the transformation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces towards NATO standards while providing technological superiority on the battlefield,” said Daniel Blažkovec, Czech Deputy Defense Minister.

The cooperation agreement will further open the opportunity for closer dialogue between Denmark and the Czech Republic within defense policy planning as well as increased cooperation between the Danish and Czech defense industries.

At the beginning of January 2024, Militarnyi reported that the Czech company Isolit-Bravo donated UGV Trail-Blazer unmanned ground vehicles to the Ukrainian military.

Trail-Blazers are delivered directly to the units to avoid bureaucracy and possible delays. Unmanned ground vehicles are used by the soldiers of the 1st Tank Brigade.

In total, Isolit-Bravo has already transferred eight Trail-Blazer drones to Ukraine free of charge, and four more are ready for shipment.
