Denmark will allocate additional funds to support the Ukrainian defense industry amid new threats to the country.
Almost $250 million will be allocated, in particular, for the purchase of drones, ammunition, and missiles.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen noted that the Ukrainian defense industry has demonstrated high efficiency in both quantitative and qualitative terms.
According to him, production capacity has increased, and now Ukraine is producing much more of its own weapons to fight Russia.
In addition, the Danish government will allocate about $173 million in other forms of assistance. Funding will be provided through the Ukraine Fund.
Such decisions are made against the backdrop of growing hybrid threats to Denmark itself.
On the evening of September 22, unknown drones disrupted the operation of airports in several cities, including Copenhagen.
At approximately 21:00, the drones were spotted flying over the territory, after which the police deployed significant forces to the airport and imposed flight restrictions.
More than 15 aircraft had to be diverted to backup airports.
During these incidents, the Russian large amphibious assault ship Alexander Shabalin of the Baltic Fleet based in Kaliningrad was off the coast of Denmark with its identification system turned off.
In addition, there were merchant ships near Copenhagen that are linked to Russian organizations.
