The Danish government has approved the allocation of funding to support Ukraine with weapons in 2025-2027.

This is stated in a statement by the Danish Ministry of Defense.

This is the 25th military aid package since the beginning of the full-scale war. It is estimated at 6.7 billion Danish kroner ($970 million) and will be financed by the Ukrainian Fund. It is intended to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities in the short and long term.

The key elements of the Danish package are air defense, artillery, and funding for the Ukrainian defense industry.

“The security situation is changing rapidly. Therefore, it is extremely important that Denmark continues to provide massive support to Ukraine,” Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen stated.

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen noted that the new package will increase Ukraine’s combat power. He also hopes that Denmark’s contribution may inspire other allies to provide even more support.

It is noted that the package will allocate SEK 1.4 billion ($203 million) from 2025 to 2027 for artillery capabilities and the transfer of shells through allied initiatives. In addition, funds are allocated for air defense, the Drone Coalition, and the IT Coalition.

Based on the Danish model’s good experience, 2 billion kronor ($290 million) will also be allocated in 2026 and 2027 to strengthen the Ukrainian defense industry.

With the additional funds, the Danish Ministry of Defense will be able to enter into an early dialogue with the Ukrainian authorities on financing Ukraine’s long-term needs.

The multi-year funding will also support ongoing efforts to encourage allies to contribute through this model.

In 2024, Denmark allocated 4.4 billion kroner ($637 million) for Ukraine’s defense industry.

In February, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umierov stated that in 2025, EUR 1.5 billion are expected to be allocated to purchase Ukrainian-made weapons for the Defense Forces under the Danish model from partner countries.
