The Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Norwegian Defense Materials Agency (NDMA) signed a cooperation agreement.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov announced this.
The agreement opens up new opportunities for the exchange of information on the arms market, joint research and development of innovative military technologies.
Working groups have already been set up in Kyiv and Oslo, where NDMA experts help train Ukrainian specialists in various areas.
Umerov is convinced that deepening cooperation with NATO partners will increase the efficiency of planning and supplying weapons, which is critical to repelling Russian aggression.
“I am sincerely grateful to our Norwegian colleagues for their support and willingness to share their experience. Together we are strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and the security of the whole of Europe,” the Minister emphasized.
Recently, it was reported that the Norwegian Conservative Party is calling for an increase in military aid to Ukraine by NOK 30 billion in 2025.
The Conservative Party proposes to triple Norwegian aid to Ukraine next year, from NOK 15 billion to NOK 45 billion. The funds are to be used to strengthen Ukraine’s defense industry.
This amount represents 40% of Norway’s defense budget for next year.
The party believes that the increased support will have a direct impact on the front line and has received assurances from Ukraine regarding weapons production lines that can be quickly expanded.
Party leaders assure that Norwegian investment in Ukraine’s defense industry could make a real difference on the front line in a short time.
The conservatives also envision support for Ukraine’s energy sector and the construction of military infrastructure, including shelters for F-16 fighter jets.
