The Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated the settlement of Staromaiorske (Donetsk region) from the Russian invaders.

The liberation of the settlement was confirmed by the Ukrainian General Staff and by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Staromaiorske is located in the south of Donetsk region, near Makarivka, which was liberated earlier.

The released video shows soldiers of the 35th Marine Brigade saying that they liberated Staromaiorske together with the Territorial Defense Forces.

“Our South! Our boys! Glory to Ukraine!” Volodymyr Zelensky wrote about the video.

Staromaiorske was occupied by Russian troops during a full-scale invasion. The village is located on the border with the Zaporizhzhia region.

It is known that soldiers of the Special Operations Forces, who knocked out the 247th Guards Air Assault Regiment of Russia from the village, also took part in the liberation of the settlement.

“The unit of the invaders was based in Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region. Soldiers of the tactical group of the 3rd Separate Special Purpose Regiment came forward to eliminate him,” soldiers of the Special Operations Forces said.

During the liberation of the settlement, a group of the SOF of Ukraine discovered the staff documentation of one of the battalions of the 247th Guards Air Assault Regiment of the Russian Federation.

In the phone of one of the neutralized invaders, they also found a list, in which considerable losses of this unit were recorded.

The Magyar unit, whose drones destroyed tanks and armored personnel carriers, also helped destroy Russian armored vehicles in this village.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine are continuing the offensive operation from Velyka Novosilka and are having partial success.
