The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine has released the design, component list, and a roster of about fifty partner enterprises involved in producing the Iskander-M missile system.

The information was published on the War Sanctions portal.

The Iskander-M is a Russian operational-tactical missile system designed to carry out high-precision strikes on medium-range targets.

It is one of the key elements of Russia’s missile arsenal and is actively used in the war against Ukraine.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, the main contractor for the state orders on the development and production of 9M723 missiles is the Russian Machine-Building Design Bureau.

The production of this weapon is confucted at the facilities of the Votkinsk Plant.

Both enterprises have long been under sanctions imposed by most countries of the sanctions coalition, as have most other manufacturers of components for the Iskander ballistic missile system.

“However, 13 of the 49 enterprises disclosed today are still not under sanctions from any country in the sanctions coalition,” the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine noted.

These include:

  • The Morozov Plant – one of the manufacturers of solid-fuel charges for Iskander missile engines;
  • Psb Tekhnologii and Pantes – companies that produce circuit board sets for the Kometa system, which Russia has begun installing in 9M723 missiles in place of decoy units;
  • Metallist Plant in Serpukhov – a producer of accelerometers used in the missile’s strapdown inertial navigation system.

Intelligence officials emphasized that the weapons Russia is using against Ukraine today may in the future be used by Russia and its allies against other countries.

“In particular, Russia has already helped North Korea modernize its KN-23/KN-24 ballistic missiles,” the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine added.

Procurement documents obtained by Militarnyi reveal for the first time the scale of deliveries of these systems planned for 2024–2025.
