The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine disclosed details of a missile strike on Russian ships in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reported on this.

According to the intelligence, on March 23, 2024, they successfully attacked the facilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the annexed peninsula.

In particular, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the 13th Shipyard of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, where, among other things, the Yamal landing ship was moored.

According to Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the damage to the Yamal landing ship is critical: a hole in the upper deck caused the ship to roll to starboard.

“Russian invaders are continuously pumping out water from the damaged ship, which took part in the annexation of Crimea and was undergoing repairs from 2017 to 2023,” the Defence Intelligence of Ukrain reports.

Other details of Russian losses as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ missile strike on Russian military facilities on the temporarily occupied peninsula are being clarified.

On the evening of March 23, the Ukrainian Air Force, in cooperation with the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Navy, launched a powerful attack on Russian military facilities in Crimea.

Due to a prolonged night attack using Storm Shadow/SCALP EG cruise missiles, many ground and surface targets were hit. In particular, the Yamal and Azov landing ships were hit.

Satellite images of the aftermath of missile strikes on Russian military bases in occupied Sevastopol have been posted online. The photo was released on Sunday, March 24, by journalist Tyler Rogoway on the social network X.

He noted that the photos shown two hits: a pier near one ship and a dry dock near the other. No visible damage was seen on the ships themselves. However, he acknowledged that they had been probably damaged.

“One of the ships is being towed to a dry dock, so it is likely to have suffered some damage. Also, a stain is spreading around the ship, which may indicate a leakage of fuel and lubricants,” Rogoway said.
