Danish-Ukrainian company Dropla Tech has received €2.4 million in funding to accelerate the development and scaling of its cutting-edge AI solutions for detecting mines and other battlefield threats.
The company’s press service reported on this.
Dropla Tech’s innovative technology can be seamlessly integrated with existing drone platforms, enhancing their capability to identify dangers in combat zones.
The investment comes from EIFO (the Danish Export and Investment Fund), Maj Invest, and the venture capital firm Final Frontier. These funds will support the advancement of the company’s flagship products, BLUE EYES and DROPLA VISION, as well as enable significant team growth.
Founded in 2023 by four visionary Ukrainian entrepreneurs, Dropla Tech’s success is rooted in a strategic partnership with the BRAVE1 defense tech cluster. This collaboration granted access to real battlefield data, which has been crucial for training their AI algorithms and rigorously testing solutions under field conditions.
Today, a team of 35 specialists works simultaneously in Denmark and Ukraine, combining European technologies with Ukrainian wartime experience and support from government innovation programs.
The company’s flagship product, BLUE EYES, is an autonomous system for detecting mines and other explosive devices (IEDs) in real time – even when communication and navigation are lost.
The system integrates with existing drones and significantly enhances the safety of military unit movements and logistics routes that are vulnerable to remote mining or enemy drone ambushes.
The company has also built its own testing ground, where it has collected the largest dataset of explosive devices in Europe, allowing its AI to be trained under conditions closely resembling real combat scenarios.
The company’s second project is DROPLA VISION, a multisensor mapping platform designed for humanitarian demining.
It combines data from optical, thermal, magnetic, multispectral, and lidar sensors, with AI analyzing the data to detect anomalies and classify threats. The system enables mission planning for both non-technical and technical ground surveys to identify explosive hazards.
Dropla Tech’s mock-ups are already undergoing field testing with the Ukrainian Defense Forces in collaboration with BRAVE1.
