The Syrian government has announced that it has reached a comprehensive ceasefire agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which provides for the gradual military and administrative integration of the northeast of the country.

This was reported by the state agency SANA, citing government sources.

According to the agreement, the parties agreed to withdraw units from the line of contact and deploy Syrian Interior Ministry security forces in the cities of Hasakah and Qamishli.

The agreement also provides for the integration of SDF units and related formations into the structure of the Syrian Arab Army.

Military integration will take place in stages, on an individual basis within brigades, with security checks and the assignment of military ranks.

Separately, there are plans to form a division of three SDF brigades, as well as to create an additional brigade of Kobani (Ayn al-Arab) forces, subordinate to the division within the Aleppo governorate.

The administrative part of the agreement includes the integration of the Autonomous Administration’s bodies with Syrian state institutions and the employment of current civil servants.

It also declares guarantees of civil and educational rights for the Kurdish community, as well as the creation of conditions for the return of internally displaced persons to their places of permanent residence.

Government sources note that the state will gain full control over civilian institutions, border crossings, ports, and oil and gas fields in the region.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense had previously announced a four-day ceasefire, which was later extended to 15 days in all areas of operations of the Syrian Arab Army.

According to official Damascus, the agreement aims to unify Syrian territory, ensure compliance with the law, and create conditions for the nationwide reconstruction of the country.

Prior to this, the Syrian government announced that it had reached an understanding with the Syrian Democratic Forces.
