The Czech army is recording an increasing number of cases of unidentified drones flying over its military facilities.
This was stated by General Staff spokeswoman Magdalena Dvořáková, according to the Czech publication IDNES.
According to her, the incidents also occurred near important infrastructure facilities in the country.
“The list of these facilities is classified,” the spokeswoman emphasized. She also did not specify the timeframe of the recorded incidents.
Dvořák noted that the Czech army is ready to detect, identify and neutralize drones both by shooting them down and through radio frequency interference. The specific method of action is chosen depending on the circumstances and the balance of risks.
It is currently unknown who is behind the drone flights over military and infrastructure facilities in Europe. At the same time, there is growing concern in a number of countries that Russia may be involved.
Recently, three people were detained in Belgium for preparing a drone attack against the prime minister.
