The Bundeswehr has approved the introduction of the P-10 service pistol under the “Pistole querschnittlich” (P13) program, which will replace the aging P8.
Hartpunkt reported on this.
Under the contract, German firm POL-TEC GmbH & Co. KG was selected as the supplier, representing weapons produced by Czech manufacturer Česká zbrojovka (CZ).
The deal is structured as a framework agreement for the procurement of up to 203,000 CZ P13 pistols, with a total value of up to €56 million.
As part of the initial order, the Bundeswehr has already purchased 65,000 pistols, along with associated equipment and services worth about €19 million.
The order covers not only service weapons but also dedicated training pistols, as well as Radar 1957 holsters in several configurations, including Level 2, Level 3, and a concealed-carry version.
The P13 is a modified version of the CZ P-10 C OR (Optics Ready) pistol finished in Flat Dark Earth.
It is a striker-fired, modular pistol developed to meet modern operational requirements. The 9×19 mm weapon is designed to operate reliably in harsh conditions, from extreme temperatures to prolonged field use.
The manufacturer also highlights ergonomics, accuracy, and compatibility with red-dot sights.
The P13 program was launched in November 2024, when the Bundeswehr announced an open competition for a seven-year framework agreement.
A notable feature of the tender was the absence of comparative trials: submitted pistols only had to demonstrate full compliance with technical requirements, with the lowest price serving as the sole selection criterion.
In the final stage of the competition, CZ competed against Slovenia’s Arex and Austria’s Glock.
In July 2025, the Bundeswehr selected the Czech pistol, although the exact model was not disclosed at the time.
