A spy scandal has erupted in Croatia involving a military pilot who served with the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.

According to IndexHR, citing its sources, the pilot is suspected of passing classified information to his Serbian partner, who then forwarded the material to representatives of the pro-Serb political party in Kosovo — Serb List.

The investigation is being conducted by both civilian and military police, with Europol also involved.

Both suspects have been questioned, and authorities are deciding on their continued detention.

Investigators believe that from late 2022 to 2025, the Croatian officer provided information on the movement of the Serbian population in northern Kosovo, as well as on the deployment and movement of KFOR units.

He also supplied data on the situation in the Zubin Potok area, considered one of the main flashpoints between Serbs and Kosovars.

The investigation found the pair exchanged information about the transfer of Dejan Pantic, a former Kosovo police officer accused of involvement in attacks on members of the Central Election Commission in northern Mitrovica.

The leak could have endangered NATO peacekeepers and influenced Kosovo’s internal politics by strengthening pro-Russian and pro-Serb forces in the region.

Serbian agents in Europe

France is investigating another provocation linked to suspected Russian interference. On the night of June 1, 2025, a series of acts of vandalism targeted Jewish sites in Paris.

Unknown individuals splashed green paint on the Shoah Memorial (Mur des Justes), several synagogues and a Jewish restaurant.

French police quickly detained three Serbian citizens suspected of carrying out the attacks. Investigators said they acted for money and were not aware of the political motives behind the operation.

Authorities suspect the attack was organized from abroad, likely Russia. They drew parallels with a 2024 incident in which images of bloody hands were painted on the Shoah Memorial, an act also linked at the time to possible Russian efforts to destabilize France and inflame ethnic tensions.
