In the Donetsk region, a Russian informant tried to identify the positions of the HIMARS rocket systems.

The Security Service of Ukraine has gathered evidence of his guilt.

The offender collected intelligence on the deployment and movement of units in the Donetsk direction.

“His primary objective was to identify possible combat positions of the HIMARS artillery rocket system,” law enforcement officers say.

Moreover, he passed precise coordinates of critical infrastructure facilities in the region to the invaders.

“It was due to his ‘information’ that the invaders carried out a strike on the water intake system in the city of Selidove,” the SSU said.

The SSU detained the suspect during a special operation in August this year.

Following the Security Service of Ukraine’s investigation, the court sentenced him to 12 years and 6 months of imprisonment.

According to the investigation, the traitor is a local resident who, after the start of the full-scale invasion, has kept in touch with the invaders and sought to assist in the war against Ukraine.

He passed the collected intelligence through a ‘liaison’.

The agent was a member of the russian-controlled terrorist organization “DPR’s people’s militia”.

He transmitted the coordinates through banned social networks Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki in the form of photos, marking the targets on electronic maps.
