China is offering the Democratic Republic of the Congo to purchase JF-17 Thunder multi-role combat aircraft.
A high-level delegation from the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) visited Kinshasa.
Politico reported this.
The goal of the trip was to propose to the President of DR Congo to purchase several JF-17 Thunder multi-role combat aircraft.
It is noted that this offer should meet the needs of the Air Force of DR Congo.
The media notes that in addition to the JF-17, the Chinese delegation also offered J-10 multi-role combat aircraft.
China and DR Congo already had joint contracts. The Air Force of DR Congo has ordered nine CH-4 combat drones from the Chinese CASC.
It is noted that Chinese companies are competing with Russia, which offers the Su-27 aircraft.
The JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) of China.
Previously, Pakistan adopted the new JF-17 Block III multi-role fighter jets.
The JF-17 Block III avionics includes modern controls and displays in the cockpit and an active electronically scanned array radar in the nose part.
The fuselage of the combat aircraft is produced using composite materials, and the new Chinese WS-13 engines have significantly improved flight performance compared to older JF-17 modifications.
