The Come Back Alive Foundation, which works on providing aid to the Ukrainian military, purchased 100 Atlas unmanned aerial systems for the Ukrainian defenders.
This was reported on the official Facebook page of the Foundation.
100 Atlas systems include 300 copters, as well as tablets and repeaters for them. Drones are produced by the Latvian company of the same name.
The Foundation emphasized that this is the first mass purchase of copters of this class.
Unlike ordinary civilian drones, they were developed specifically for military needs.
The drones have a secure communication channel and carry a high-quality thermal imaging camera for surveillance at night.
Atlas copters can be used for reconnaissance and artillery fire adjustment.
The first systems are already working at the frontline providing aerial reconnaissance to the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces.
The Foundation promised to announce the details of the military drone production and UAV instructor training in Latvia, and publish a video showing Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance units training to use Atlas in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The Atlas unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is designed to conduct aerial reconnaissance using optical-electronic tools in real time in simple and difficult meteorological conditions.
Thanks to nationwide support, the Come Back Alive Foundation’s team has purchased 10 PD-2 unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Come Back Alive Foundation has already dispatched the first batch of 25 purchased “Leleka-100” UAVs to the military.
