The Come Back Alive Foundation has handed over six Leleka-100 reconnaissance drones to the soldiers of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
The Foundation’s press service announced the news on its social media pages.
As part of the Wings for Defence Intelligence of Ukraine project, philanthropists handed over six Leleka-100 reconnaissance drones to the Ukrainian military.
“Last week, we managed to close the fundraising of UAH 9.3 million to purchase six Leleka-100 reconnaissance drones, and today, they are already performing their tasks at the forefront of defense, reinforcing the special forces of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine,” the Foundation reported.
The donors also donated kits to increase the UAV’s airborne time along with each aircraft. This is a modernization that will almost triple the time to complete a combat mission.
The rest of the raised funds will be used to equip the aerial reconnaissance team with batteries for UAVs, generators, charging stations, laptops, and camouflage nets.
The total value of the six aircraft, including additional equipment, is UAH 8,995,349.
On October 10, Come Back Alive also handed over a PD-2 reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle to the Alpha Group of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle, purchased for UAH 30 million, will enable continuous flights for 12 hours within a radius of 180 kilometers.
The aircraft is equipped with a surveillance station with a 30x zoom for the daytime channel and a 5x zoom for the thermal imaging channel, which allows it to monitor objects at a distance of up to 5 km.
In addition, on October 11, as part of the Operation Unity project, the foundation received the first 5,000 FPV drones out of 10,000 ordered.
A HEAT and HE-Frag warhead was also ordered as a kit for each drone. This solution will greatly simplify the operation and increase the level of safety for the crews.
