The Come Back Alive Foundation, together with Tabletki.ua, launched a Hope Wheels project, according to the Foundation’s press-release.

The Come Back Alive Foundation states the aim of the project is to raise UAH 18,900,000.

With this money, the project team is going to buy seven specially equipped casevac vehicles for the combat brigades of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which are constantly on the frontline.

The evacuation vehicles will be equipped on the basis of Toyota Land Cruiser 78 off-road vehicles. The vehicles will additionally be equipped with a lighting system, an inverter, batteries, a specially designed system for fixing and transporting the wounded, organizers, fasteners, and all the necessary first aid equipment.

The casevac vehicles will contain nodal tourniquets, splints, bandages, breathing support, vital signs monitoring, extraction, etc.

As of the winter of 2024, there are not enough such vehicles in the inventory of the Ukrainian Defense Forces to save our defenders. The evacuation of the wounded is carried out mostly by non-medical transport. It can take from 2 to 12 hours or even longer.

“We chose a Toyota Land Cruiser 78 as a casevac vehicle based on the experience of combat medics. It is important that the evacuation vehicle is reliable, all-terrain, fast and properly equipped,” says Liudmyla Pautets, Head of the Foundation’s tactical medicine instructor program.

The casevac vehicles will be used by medics at the most difficult stage of evacuation – when transporting the wounded off-road directly from the fields and positions to stabilization centers and advanced surgical teams.

The vehicles will additionally be equipped with means to stop bleeding from nodal areas, active thermal blankets to combat hypothermia, which is especially important in the cold season, and means of evacuating and transferring of victims.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Come Back Alive Foundation, in collaboration with Ukrnafta, has equipped mobile anti-aircraft fire teams with necessary equipment and vehicles.

The defenders received pickup trucks, searchlights, thermal imaging optics, generators and other auxiliary equipment.
