The Come Back Alive Foundation provided transport and basic equipment for another 40 engineering and demining teams of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Come Back Alive Foundation announced this.
The military is being supplied within the We Live Here project, implemented jointly with Kyivstar. In total, 146 teams received it.
“The units of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are demining both the liberated Kharkiv and Kyiv regions and the districts of Kherson, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions where the fighting continues. Last summer, we started supplying them with reliable vehicles and equipment under the We Live Here project. This has already significantly strengthened the sappers in performing demining and engineering reconnaissance tasks and saved many lives,” Taras Chmut, Director of the Come Back Alive Foundation, emphasized.
The first demining teams received assistance in July 2023. Since then, within the We Live Here project, the Foundation has delivered support equipment to defenders from 11 military units, including the Support Forces:
It should be noted that all specialized sapper tools and devices, as well as EOD suits, were manufactured in Ukraine.
“Come Back Alive Foundation has been consistently working in the area of mine safety since 2016. Training the military and providing all units of the Defense Forces with demining equipment is a large part of the organization’s work. However, the We Live Here project is the first such large-scale project of the Foundation in this area. Together with our partners and due to donations from thousands of people, we managed to cover all the urgent needs of the mobile demining teams of the Support Forces for transport and basic equipment. This is a significant assistance to the military in clearing our country of the consequences of the war and performing tasks at the front,” Viktoriia Dvoretska, Head of the instructor department of the Come Back Alive Foundation and the We Live Here project, noted.
The fundraising of UAH 175 million for the demining project started in May last year. Come Back Alive Foundation and Kyivstar announced its completion on February 13.
Thanks to the contributions of Ukrainians, foreign partners, subscribers, and employees of the mobile operator, as well as dozens of business and cultural representatives, it was possible to accumulate UAH 180 million.
“I am sincerely grateful to our sappers who are clearing Ukraine of the dangerous legacy of war and to everyone who supported the We Live Here project. Together, we have exceeded the ambitious goal of UAH 175 million and raised UAH 180 million to help our defenders make our land safer for life,” Oleksandr Komarov, CEO of Kyivstar, shared.
The Come Back Alive Foundation will also use the funds raised above the target to purchase demining equipment for the Support Forces.
