In Germany, an unidentified individual reportedly breached the Cologne Van airbase and allegedly poisoned the water supply.

Spiegel reported on this.

The sabotage came to light when a routine inspection revealed a gap in the fence surrounding the airbase.

The hole in the mesh was large enough to allow a person to enter the airbase.

Following this discovery, several cases of gastrointestinal issues were reported to Spiegel by the airport police.

As noted, concerns are raising that the symptoms might be linked to an attempt to poison the water supply, which is separate and independent within the barracks area.

The police are actively investigating the incident, and military personnel have been instructed to be vigilant about any unknown individuals near the fence.

Access to the barracks where the affected servicemen were staying has been restricted as part of the investigation.

The Cologne Van barracks house several commanding authorities, as well as military and civilian offices of the Bundeswehr.

The aircraft of the Federal Ministry of Defense are also based at this airbase, as the barracks are located directly next to Cologne Airport.

In total, 4,300 military personnel and 1,200 civilian employees are stationed on the territory.

Militarnyi reported that Russian sabotage groups are suspected of setting fire to Diehl’s metal plant in Berlin, a company that helps Ukraine with air defense.
