Chinese companies have been exporting military equipment to Belarusian companies even after it was hit with European and US sanctions.

Despite China not officially recognizing that it supplies weapons to Russia, it exports military equipment to Belarus, where weapons are produced, in particular for the Russian Armed Forces.

Recently, the Chinese company Green Cycle Energy received an order from the Belarusian company BelOMO Holding for 3000 components for the LAD-21T laser targeting module.

The module itself is used by the military to form a laser pointer for high-precision bombs and laser-guided missiles.

Payment under the contract was made in China’s national currency, RMB, through the Shanghai branch of VTB, a Russian state-owned bank.

On February 1, 2024, another Chinese company, Morotack, signed a contract with Diaprojector, a subsidiary of the BelOMO Group, for 200 units of components called “flanges” worth 114 thousand yuan.

According to Nikkei, these components are very important for creating modern guidance systems. Payment under the contract was made through Belarusian and Chinese banks.

At the same time, the BelOMO group is working closely with Russian defense companies, which allows Russia to obtain products from Belarusian enterprises for its own army.

For example, Precision Laser Systems (Прецизионные лазерные системы) from St. Petersburg supplied Diaproektor with components for lasers used to create laser rangefinders as part of the Sosna-U fire control system and T-72B3 tanks. 78 units of these components were sold at a price of $499,200.

Militarnyi previously reported that China is providing geospatial intelligence to Russia, which is also used in the war against Ukraine.

The satellites were also leased by the Wagner PMC in addition to government agencies. According to the French edition of Agence France-Presse (AFP), in November 2022, the Russian mercenary group leased two Chinese high-resolution Jilin-1 Gaofen 03D12 and 03D13 satellites and related services for a total of more than $30 million.
