China denies supplying Russia with armored vehicles for the war in Ukraine.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said that China has not provided and is not providing any military or other assistance to Russia for its war.

The spokesman addressed the issue in response to an Ukrinform correspondent’s request to comment on the report of the alleged receiving by a Chechen unit of a batch of armored vehicles from China.

“I don’t know where these so-called public testimonies come from. Our long-standing principle on the Ukraine issue is to always uphold an objective and fair position and be committed to promoting peace talks, not adding fuel to the fire or sending weapons to the battlefield,” Wang said.

He was outraged by the publications of some media about Chinese aid to Russia in the war and added that the work of truly responsible media “must always be based on facts and be done objectively, honestly, and professionally.”

As previously reported, the Russian National Guard was armed with the first Chinese-made Tiger armored vehicles.

Armored vehicles entered service with the Chechen unit Akhmat, which is part of the National Guard of the Russian Federation.

Chinese-made military equipment entered service with Russian units for the first time.

The Tiger armored vehicle is manufactured by the Chinese defense enterprise Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles Manufacturing.

It is reported that the armored vehicles were purchased by the authorities of the Chechen Republic. The released footage shows 8 Chinese armored vehicles with weapon mounts.

The Tiger armored vehicle was demonstrated for the first time at the Eurosatory-2012 international exhibition.

The Chinese Tiger is widely exported, with many sold or given as military aid by the Chinese government around the world. As for prices, it is known that in 2015, 31 such vehicles were ordered by Bolivia, with a total contract value of $7.7 million.
