British Challenger 2 tanks have arrived in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially confirmed this.

Iryna Zolotar, Defense Ministry spokeswoman, shared this with AFP on Monday.

“They (Challenger 2 tanks. – Ed.) are already in Ukraine,” Zolotar said without providing any other details.

Already on Tuesday morning, March 28, Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, published a video capturing British tanks in Ukraine.

It was a pleasure to take the first Ukrainian Challenger 2 MBT for a spin.
Such tanks, supplied by the United Kingdom, have recently arrived in our country.
These fantastic machines will soon begin their combat missions.

The Minister noted that Challenger 2 tanks recently arrived in Ukraine from the UK. He added that soon, these tanks will start performing combat tasks.

On Monday, Oleksii Reznikov announced that he had the honor to “test a new addition to the Ukrainian army units together with Ukrainian paratroopers” – a Challenger tank from Britain, Stryker armored fighting vehicles and Cougar MRAP from the USA, and Marder infantry fighting vehicles from Germany.

The Minister of Defense personally tried to operate one of the transferred Challenger 2 tanks.

“By the way, after personally piloting the Challenger as a participant in trophy raids, I can say that even a Rolls-Royce driver will not be as comfortable as the crew of these tanks,” Reznikov emphasized.

Before that, The Guardian newspaper reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine servicemen completed training on Challenger 2 tanks in the UK and have already returned home.

The Ukrainian military arrived in the UK for training in operating these tanks at the end of January. The Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom official shared that the supply of tanks is planned by the end of March.

As previously reported, the British government will hand over 14 Challenger 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine.
