The Canadian government announces a new military aid package for Ukraine during a summit in Washington.
The Office of the President of Ukraine announced this.
The $350 million in military aid was announced during a meeting on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington, D.C. when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The leaders discussed Ukraine’s defense needs and coordinated cooperation within the coalition of fighter jets.
“It is very important for our people to hear this. Thank you for your help, for the additional defense package. It will strengthen our heroes on the battlefield,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
Canada supports Ukraine in various European initiatives and provides Ukraine with weapons and military equipment.
Thus, Canada is preparing to send new LAV 6.0 ACSV armored personnel carriers to Ukraine.
The first batch of these armored personnel carriers, which are manufactured in London, Canada, has been shipped to Ukraine.
Additionally, the Canadian government allocates financial packages for the purchase of weapons under the Czech initiative, including artillery shells, the German initiative to purchase air defense systems, and the Polish tank initiative.
In addition to the government itself, Canadian companies are also seeking closer cooperation with the Ukrainian defense industry.
Militarnyi previously reported that armored vehicle manufacturer Roshel plans to invest tens of millions of dollars in building a plant in Ukraine.
