The Indian Army has received over 500 blast-resistant bunkers created using 3D printing.
The shelters were developed by the MiCoB startup and are designed for use in extreme conditions, from high-altitude snowy regions to scorching deserts, NextGenDefense reported.
The bunkers are made of concrete using automated 3D printing technology, reducing construction time from 45 days to less than a week.
They combine protection, thermal insulation, and comfort, meeting Indian military standards.
MiCoB co-founder Dr. Shashank Shekhar noted that the startup has already built over 650 such structures across India, making it the largest project of its kind worldwide.
The bunkers have been tested under combat conditions, including withstanding a direct hit from a Russian T-90 tank.
They have also proven effective in harsh climates, providing safe shelter for more than 60 soldiers.
The project has received support from both public and private sectors. According to MiCoB, it will help India strengthen its position as a leader in sustainable construction and military innovation.
