British Tank Museum Opens Exhibition on War in Ukraine

An exhibition dedicated to the Russian-Ukrainian war has been unveiled at the British Tank Museum in Dorset.

The museum explains that the exhibition focuses on the theme of “armored warfare in the modern world.”

Visitors can explore the origins of the full-scale conflict, the military operations, and the profound impact the war has had on civilian life.
At the heart of the exhibition, the museum has proudly showcased a T-72 tank from its own collection.

Also featured is a German Marder infantry fighting vehicle, now actively used by Ukrainian forces in the ongoing conflict.

The exhibition was visited by Valerii Zaluzhnyi, who highlighted how even the most advanced armored vehicles are losing their effectiveness against emerging challenges like drones, precision strikes, and digital intelligence.

“Tanks are no longer a guarantee of victory. The world is on the verge of a new military era,” Zaluzhnyi remarked.

The displayed T-72 also has its own story of supporting Ukraine.

In 2024, British engineers took Soviet-era tanks from museums to develop tracks that will be manufactured for Ukraine’s armored vehicles.

The museum is collaborating with William Cook Defence Ltd to conduct reverse engineering of the tracks from several Soviet-era machines to send to Ukraine.

Exhibitions dedicated to the war in Ukraine are often held across Europe. These exhibitions aim to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine caused by Russian aggression and to share the experiences of Ukrainians during the war.

Last year, an exhibition showcasing destroyed and captured Russian weapons and military equipment by the Ukrainian Defense Forces was held in the capital of Germany.
